Feedback Strategies

Try Feedforward Instead of Feedback

I really appreciate this article. I love when it says "we can change the future, we can't change the past." This is so true. The entire purpose of feedback/feedforward is to better a person as the move forward! Also, everything flourishes during positivity. Negativity is just that: negative. No one likes is when someone tells them what they did wrong. There is a better method to this. With feedforward, you can also keep track of progress rather than focusing on what went wrong.

What Kinds of Messages Help Kids Grow?

This article was very helpful for me as a future teacher. I can see how it can be beneficial to give affirmation that is specific and making it explicit what they are being praised about. I also love that as far as failure to do or achieve something, it is encouraged to use "yet." This gives kids hope and confidence to try again until they are successful. This should be practiced often.
